IFDATA Wins ARMA 2025 Case History Award

We are proud to announce that IFDATA has been awarded the American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA) 2025 Case History Award.

The award was presented at the 59th U.S. Rock Mechanics / Geomechanics Symposium, recognizing our groundbreaking research (SPE-223538) originally presented at HFTC. In this work, we documented the first field-scale observation of bedding plane slippage and fault interaction during hydraulic fracturing operations.

This case study provides the first direct observations of horizontal bedding plane slippage using cross-well low-frequency distributed acoustic sensing (LFDAS) in the Sichuan Basin, China. Our findings highlight the potential risks associated with horizontal fracture growth and demonstrate the importance of advanced monitoring and modeling techniques in optimizing stimulation strategies for unconventional reservoirs.
