IFDATA Secures Second U.S. Patent

We are thrilled to announce the issuance of our second U.S. patent, U.S. Patent No. 12,546,215 B2, titled “Fracking Efficiency Evaluation System and Methods of Use”, officially published on February 10, 2026.

Our patent builds on the use of distributed fiber-optic sensing (DFOS) for completions monitoring by moving beyond evaluating only what the fiber directly "sees" during hydraulic fracturing.

Using observed frac-hits from LF-DAS data together with statistical modeling, our method estimates the broader fracture network - including fractures that are not directly observed at the monitoring well.

The goal is to provide a more complete understanding of fracture geometry and completion design performance.

The patent was developed by Wen Wang, Joseph Mjehovich, and Ge Jin as part of our ongoing efforts to advance DFOS analytics and interpretation solutions for hydraulic fracturing diagnostics.
