IFDATA Wins “Best of Paper” Award at URTeC 2023

We are excited to announce that IFDATA has received the “Best of Paper” award at the URTeC 2023 conference. Our paper, titled “Quantitative Analysis of Hydraulic Fracturing Test Site 2 Completion Designs Using Crosswell Strain Measurement”, was highly ranked for Theme 4, recognizing our outstanding contribution to the technical program.

The Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC) is a leading event for the latest science and technology in unconventional resource exploration and development, emphasizing the integration of technical disciplines.

Our award-winning paper introduces a novel approach using Low-Frequency Distributed Acoustic Sensing (LF-DAS) based cross-well strain measurements to evaluate completion design efficiency. This study demonstrates the potential of LF-DAS for quantitative interpretation and broadens its application in hydraulic fracturing diagnostics.

This achievement is a result of excellent collaboration between IFDATA, Texas A&M University, and the Colorado School of Mines. Special thanks to the authors Joseph Mjehovich (IFDATA), Aishwarya Srinivasan (TAMU), Wen Wang (IFDATA), Dr. Kan Wu (TAMU), and Dr. Ge Jin (CSM).
